LET'S HEAR IT FOR NEW YORK, BOND NO.9 HAS ARRIVED AT BENTALLS,, KINGSTON

For the first time in perfume history a complete fragrance collection has been created in homage to one of worlds most vibrant cities — New York. Bond No. 9 was founded in 2003 by Parisian, Laurice Rahmé, after she relocated to New York and instantly fell in love with the city.  This bold and eclectic collection takes its name from the address of its flagship boutique at 9 Bond Street, in NoHo, New York City and now Bentalls Department Store, Kingston has launched the unique range of unisex fragrances, exclusive to fans in the UK, outside of London.

The Bond No. 9 collection of women's, men’s and unisex eau de parfum has up to 40% concentration - one of the highest concentrations in today’s market and been created with a dual mission in mind: to restore artistry to perfumery and to celebrate every New York neighbourhood with a unique scent of its own.  Each bottle includes the NYC logo, representing the New York Subway token which was phased out in 2003 and every fragrance has its own story to tell, capturing the essence of a specific downtown, midtown, or uptown locale, or a city-wide sensibility.  Today founder, Laurice Rahmé works with a wide range of perfumers to develop each of the Bond No.9 scents, capturing the spirit of the neighbourhood it represents and the city as a whole.

Bentalls will stock an extensive range of Bond No. 9 fragrances, including the hip Madison Square Park, the urban High Line and of course their seductive Signature scent.  When Bond No. 9 unveiled their Signature scent it was to mark the 10-year anniversary of Bond No. 9’s headquarters boutique, not for a New York neighborhood, but for their NoHo address—a fixed point in the realm of the senses.  Bond No. 9 Perfume contains four superbly harmonious East/West ingredients. Representing the Eastern world is earthy, sultry Oud, with rose, treasured in both the Middle East and the New World. Tonka beans from South America add to the heat with its caramel-almond flavour, while musk, inspired by the Asian musk deer, underscores Oud’s carnal nature.  Representing the preciousness of its ingredients, the Bond No. 9 Perfume bottle is rendered in non-stop gold, laser-etched with an overall patterning of our signature token. Hold the bottle up to the light and you will see through both sides and the crystal-clear perfume itself.  Bond No. 9 Perfume is available in 50ml at £200 and 100ml at £280.

If you enjoy a more floral fragrance then Astor Place is the fragrance for you; Astor Place has an intoxicatingly fresh spring floral scent that begins with a bold, seductive freesia-poppy-violet leaf composition and simmers down into smooth, steady notes of teakwood and musk.

The design of the Astor Place bottle echoes the angles and cubes of the Rosenthal sculpture on Astor Place, while the brightly colour triangles recall Astor Place’s lamp posts, curbs and even cracks in the pavement, which are lovingly decorated with mosaic tile shards. Astor Place is available in both 50ml £125 and 100ml £195.

Bond No. 9 has attracted some of the biggest names in art and fashion, with The Andy Warhol Foundation enlisting haute couture jewellery designer Robert Lee Morris to create exclusive pieces for the brand.

Bond No. 9 fragrances are also complemented with a range of intoxicating candles and luxurious body silks. The Eau De New York candle has a unisex, energy boosting fragrance in a turquoise tinted glass, bursting with citruses and gardenia, jasmine and basil. Candle: 180g £75.00  Body Silk: 200ml £90.00
